This ingredient contains polymerised glycerin (as alcoholic component). The number behind "polyglyceryl-" refers to the average number of glycerin units. This ingredient contains lauryl alcohol (1-dodecanol) as alcoholic component. "Methyl" mostly refers to methanol (methyl alcohol) as alcoholic component or generally the methyl group as the smallest hydrocarbon residue with one carbon atom. Dimethyl-, trimethyl- etc refer to two, three or more methyl groups. "...Siloxy" generally refers to a silicone-oxygen group, particularly in siloxanes. Siloxanes are silicone compounds in which the silicone atoms are interlinked via oxygen bridges. Polymeric siloxanes are referred to as silicones. Ingredient on the basis of poly(di)methyl siloxane ("dimethicone"). "Cross polymer" refers to a crosslinked polymer.
