"Benzyl" mostly refers to benzyl alcohol as alcoholic component or generally the benzyl (phenylmethyl) group as aromatic hydrocarbon residue. Laurates are salts or esters of lauric acid (dodecanoic acid). Myristates are salts or esters of myristic acid (tetradecanoic acid). Palmitates are salts or esters of palmitic acid (hexadecanoic acid).
