"Hexyldecyl" refers to 2-hexyldecanol as alcoholic component or generally a 2-hexyldecyl hydrocarbon residue. "Octyldodecyl" mostly refers to 2-octyldodecanol as alcoholic component or generally a hydrocarbon residue with 20 carbon atoms. The name component "lauroyl" means that the ingredient contains, as fatty acid component, amongst others, lauric acid (dodecanoic acid) (mostly introduced via an acylation reaction). Glutamates are salts, esters or amides of glutamic acid (2-aminopentanedioic acid, an amino acid).
