Substance information
"Benzyl" mostly refers to benzyl alcohol as alcoholic component or generally the benzyl (phenylmethyl) group as aromatic hydrocarbon residue. This ingredient contains piperidine (hexhaydropyridine, azacyclohexane) as amine component. "Ethoxy" refers to a ethyl-oxygen group (CH3-CH2-O-). Diethoxy-, triethoxy- etc refer to two, three or more ethoxy groups. "Propyl" mostly refers to propanol (1-propanol or n-propanol) as alcoholic component or generally a saturated hydrocarbon chain with 3 carbon atoms. Amides are generally conversion products of carbonic acids (carboxylic acids, mostly fatty acids) or other acids with nitrogen compounds (ammonia or alkyl and alkanol amines, amino acids etc). Examples: "stearamides" are amides of the stearic acid, "cocamides" are amides of coconut fatty acids.
