Background information on use in cosmetics
Sodium chloride (table salt) is a sodium salt of hydrochloric acid with the chemical formula NaCl. It occurs in large amounts in nature, in particular in dissolved form in seawater with a content of approximately 3 % and is the most important mineral for humans and animals. The body of an adult contains approximately 150 to 300 g common salt. As table salt sodium chloride is an important component of human diet.
