Background information on use in cosmetics
Fluorides are used in dental care products. As a result of the supply of low amounts of fluoride there can be an inhibition of the demineralisation with a simultaneous support of the remineralisation of the tooth enamel. As a fluoridation agent for toothpastes, salts of fluorophosphoric acid or of hydrogen fluoride, silicofluorides or amine hydrofluorides substituted with aliphatic carbon chains are used.
