Background information on use in cosmetics
The ginger plant is from India but it is also cultivated at present in South East Asia, Central America, China and Japan and internationally traded. For the recovery of ginger extract the brownish ginger roots are dried and then ground. Ginger promotes the blood circulation, refines the complexion and has a disinfectant effect so that mainly blemished, oily and pimpled skin can benefit from that. Moreover, it is recommended for pale facial skin and uneven complexion since it supports the natural production of collagen and elastin. In cosmetic products the extracts of the root are used in antibacterial face creams, peelings and in stimulating hair cures.
