Ingredient
STEARDIMONIUM PROPYL/METHACRYLOYLPROPYL SILSESQUIOXANE SILICATE
Substance information
"Dimonium …" refers to a quaternary dimethyl ammonium salt, mostly on the basis of fatty amines. Examples: "steardimonium…" contains a stearyl-(C18) carbon chain; "laurdimonium…" corresponds to a lauryl-(C12-) hydrocarbon residue. "Propyl" mostly refers to propanol (1-propanol or n-propanol) as alcoholic component or generally a saturated hydrocarbon chain with 3 carbon atoms. "Acryloyl" refers to the acryloyl group H2C=CH-CO- (the acyl residue of the acrylic acid). "Methacryloyl" refers to the methacryloil group (methacryloil-). Silsesquioxanes are organosilicone compounds which are mostly obtained by hydrolysis of a trichloroalkylsilane. Silicates are salts and esters of the silicic acid; this also includes natural silicate minerals or synthetic silicates (eg "glasses").
