Ingredient
DIISOSTEAROYL TRIMETHYLOLPROPANE SILOXY SILICATE
Substance information
The name component "isostearoyl" means that the ingredient contains, as fatty acid component, amongst others, isostearic acid (isooctadecanoic acid) (mostly introduced via an acylation reaction). This ingredient contains trimethylolpropane (1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)propane) as alcoholic component. "...Siloxy" generally refers to a silicone-oxygen group, particularly in siloxanes. Siloxanes are silicone compounds in which the silicone atoms are interlinked via oxygen bridges. Polymeric siloxanes are referred to as silicones. Silicates are salts and esters of the silicic acid; this also includes natural silicate minerals or synthetic silicates (eg "glasses").
