"Hexyldecyl" refers to 2-hexyldecanol as alcoholic component or generally a 2-hexyldecyl hydrocarbon residue. The name component "myristoyl" means that the ingredient contains, as fatty acid component, amongst others, myristic acid (tetradecanoic acid) (mostly introduced via an acylation reaction). "Methyl" mostly refers to methanol (methyl alcohol) as alcoholic component or generally the methyl group as the smallest hydrocarbon residue with one carbon atom. Dimethyl-, trimethyl- etc refer to two, three or more methyl groups. "Amino" mostly refers to an nitrogen hydrogen grouping (NH2-). Propionates are salts or esters of the propionic acid.
