Substance information

This ingredient is a wax (mostly of vegetable origin, occasionally also from mineral sources or synthetically obtained). Glycerides are conversion products of glycerin (esters), which are obtained through a reaction with fats (through so-called trans-esterification) or through direct esterification with one or more fatty acid(s) (mono-, di- or triglycerides).

Background information on use in cosmetics

Vegetable oils are characterised by a high share of (poly) unsaturated fatty acids, which are characteristic for the liquid consistency. As an admixture many vitamins, carotenoids and free fatty acids are present.

Are cosmetics tested on animals? No!

In the European Union, testing cosmetics on animals has been fully banned since 2013.
