Deodorising ingredients
Description
Deodorising agents are used to prevent and / or cover body odour. Basically, three ways of deodorisation can be described: 1. Prevention of the odour formation by controlling the causing bacteria. 2. Binding of the volatile, unpleasant compounds. 3. Covering of the odour by perfume oils. The most important method is the control of bacteria. The possibility of covering odours by perfume oils is as old as perfume itself and is used in almost all deodorants at least as an additional effect. At present the bactericides used are, for instance, octenidine hydrochloride oder C12-15 alkyl benzoate. The leading odour absorber is zinc ricinoleate. The effect is based on the binding of the odour components in tubular inclusion compounds.
