Ingredient
BENZOIC ACID/PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE/PENTAERYTHRITOL/NEOPENTYL GLYCOL/PALMITIC ACID COPOLYMER
Substance information
Polymer or copolymer based on benzoic acid and possibly other monomers. Polymer or copolymer based on phthalic acid (1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid) and possibly other monomers. Polymer or copolymer based on Pentaerythritol (2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol) and possibly other monomers. "Pentyl" normally refers to pentanol as an alcoholic component or generally a saturated (possibly branched) hydrocarbon chain with 5 carbon atoms. "Glycol" refers to divalent alcohol as alcoholic component of this ingredient (ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, pentylene glycol, hexylene glycol and others). The name component "palmitic" means that the ingredient contains, as fatty acid component, amongst others, palmitic acid (hexadecanoic acid) (mostly introduced via an acylation reaction). "Copolymer" refers to a polymer composed of several different (mostly two) basic units (monomers).
