Background information on use in cosmetics
Carbon black refers to industrially produced carbon (synthetic soot) which is specifically synthesized with precisely defined physical, chemical and application specifications. Carbon black is used in cosmetic products as black pigment. It is compatible and mixable with almost all other ingredients and solvents and has a high resistance to temperature and light. It stands out because of its particularly high colouring strength and depth. Carbon black is authorised practically all over the world as a cosmetic colourant.
