Solvents
Description
A solvent (also called solvent agent) is a substance which can dissolve or dilute gases, liquids or solids without any chemical reactions between the dissolved substance and the dissolving substance (the solvent). As a rule, liquids and water as well as liquid organic substances such as different alcohols (ethanol, glycols) can be used to dissolve other substances. In rather rare cases, solids can also be solvents for other substances.
