Oil components
Description
Oil is a generic term for or various water-insoluble, liquid fatty substances. These include mineral oils, silicone oils as well as oils of natural origin (vegetable oils and essential oils), which are often characterised by mono- or poly-unsaturated fatty acids. Oils of animal origin are mostly referred to as fats. Oil components in cosmetic products prevent the premature desiccation of skin and hair. They often have a similar effect to refattening agents. In hair both a caring effect and an impregnation can be achieved with oils. In this way sensitive hair zones are protected in the event of perm or dye applications.
